Farm Folk Festival: June 29, 2013
The Farm Folk Festival is an exciting, all-day event of Americana indie music and workshops by local artists, chefs, gardeners, craftsmen and musicians. This annual event takes place on a greenbelt that connects two important pieces of Anaheim history, The Packard Showroom and The Packing House, in celebration of Anaheim's agricultural heritage. In addition to live music, there will be workshops on garden mixology, farming, tin whistle playing, cigar box guitar making, vintage bicycle repair and more. Guests can rest on the grass of the outdoor amphitheater, stroll on the redwood boardwalk, buys plants and herbs from Fullerton Arboretum, snack on delicious treats from the gourmet food trucks or at Umami Burger and enjoy Anaheim Brewery craft beer on their tasting room patio.
Packard Picnic & Pies: August 25, 2013
The Anaheim Packing District will host the first Packard, Picnic & Pies, a free community celebration from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 400 S Anaheim Blvd. Everyone is encouraged to dress in 1930s garb and are welcome to bring a picnic or enjoy the pizza pies from Urban Pie, or sweet and savory pies from Wheat & Sons. The Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim will host lawn games for kids of all ages include hula-hoops, gunny sack races and bean bag toss with orange and lemon yellow bags reminiscent of the oranges and lemons packed in the adjacent Anaheim Packing House. The Community will enjoy live music reminiscent of the 1930s. Packard cars will be on display for all to enjoy the opulence and craftsmanship of these luxury cars.
